Third Verdict in Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder Trial Resulting in $70 Million

A Saint Louis jury recently awarded a 62-year-old California woman over $70 million dollars in damages. The women claimed her long-term regular use of Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder caused her ovarian cancer.

The California women had religiously used J & J Talcum Powder for over 40 years for feminine hygiene. She immediately stopped using this product after her diagnosis of ovarian cancer three years ago. The women has undergone surgery, radiation and chemotherapy to fight this terrible disease, but she will more than likely loose her battle to ovarian cancer within the next two years.

This is the third verdict involving the regular use of talcum powder triggering the development of ovarian cancer. The previous verdicts resulted in damages valued at $72 million and $55 million by Saint Louis juries.

Johnson & Johnson is currently fighting over 1,700 lawsuits in state and federal courts for failing to warn consumers about the risk of developing ovarian cancer as a result of regular talcum powder use.
