Children in Cities Across Michigan are Testing Positive for Dangerously High Levels of Lead in their Blood
The water contamination crisis in Flint, MI has affected thousands of people by exposing them to hazardous levels of lead in drinking water. And Flint is not the only city in Michigan where children are testing positive for elevated levels of lead in their blood.
Throughout the state, children in cities including Grand Rapids, Adrian and Detroit have also tested positive for elevated blood-lead levels. In certain parts of Detroit, nearly 21% of children that were tested during one study were found to have elevated blood-lead levels.
