Expert Witness

An expert witness is a person with specialized knowledge, skill, training, education, or experience who may offer opinions that help a judge or jury understand technical issues. Experts in injury litigation can include physicians, nurses, engineers, economists, life-care planners, toxicologists, and crash reconstructionists. The court decides whether an expert and the proposed opinions satisfy the applicable admissibility rules. An expert’s role is to provide an independent, supportable opinion.
