Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is the exploitation of a person for compelled labor or commercial sex through force, fraud, or coercion. When a minor is induced to perform a commercial sex act, federal law does not require proof of force, fraud, or coercion. Trafficking can occur through personal relationships, businesses, institutions, or online platforms. Civil claims may examine the conduct of traffickers and the knowledge, participation, benefit, or failures of other responsible parties.
