Insurance Adjuster

An insurance adjuster investigates and evaluates a claim for an insurance company or, in some cases, for a policyholder or independent adjusting firm. The adjuster may gather statements, review records, assess coverage, estimate damages, and negotiate. An insurer’s adjuster represents the insurer’s interests and is not the injured person’s legal adviser. Recorded statements, broad medical authorizations, releases, and early settlement offers can affect a claim and should be considered carefully.
