Neonatal Resuscitation

Neonatal resuscitation is the immediate support given to a newborn who needs help establishing breathing, heart rate, or circulation after birth. Measures can range from warming and stimulation to ventilation, chest compressions, medication, or advanced airway care. The required response depends on the baby’s condition and changes over minutes. A legal review examines preparation, staffing, equipment, timing, documentation, and whether any departure from accepted practice caused additional injury.
