Uterine Rupture
Uterine rupture is a tear through the wall of the uterus, often involving a prior uterine scar but possible in other circumstances. It can cause severe bleeding, fetal heart rate changes, loss of oxygen, and danger to both patient and baby. It requires rapid recognition and emergency care. A legal review examines risk factors, labor after prior C-section, medications, monitoring, symptoms, response, surgical findings, and whether earlier action would probably have prevented or reduced injury.
