$4,000,000 HIE Brain Injury
Mother had a full-term pregnancy without complications. The mother presented to Labor & Delivery when her water broke and was admitted. Several hours into labor, the baby’s heart rate pattern became worrisome and remained so for hours, but no c-section was performed. The decision not to perform a timely c-section resulted in causing an HIE brain injury, resulting in permanent, profound brain injury by the time the baby was delivered. The case was settled before trial.
