Maryland Child Victims Act
The Maryland Child Victims Act is a law governing civil claims arising from sexual abuse that occurred while the survivor was a minor. Under the current statute, qualifying actions may generally be filed at any time despite earlier time limits. The law also contains special rules and limits involving revived claims, defendants, damages, deceased claimants, and attorney fees. Because the statute has changed and individual facts matter, a current case-specific legal review is necessary.
