Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Salvatore Bucca:

Father Salvatore Bucca was first publicly identified in October 2018 on the Archdiocese of Washington’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors, with allegations dating back as far as 1948. 

The archdiocese reported that allegations against Bucca were initially brought forward in 1978 and described these claims as “possibly sexual” in nature. That same year, roughly two years after his ordination, Father Salvatore Bucca was removed from ministry.

Despite his removal, Bucca has not been laicized and remains a priest by status.

He is believed to be living in the Silver Spring, Maryland area and is currently around 69 years old.
