Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL)

Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma, or BIA-ALCL, is a rare cancer of the immune system that has been associated primarily with textured breast implants. It is not breast cancer. It often develops in the fluid or scar capsule around an implant and may present with persistent swelling, a mass, pain, or other changes. Diagnosis and treatment require medical evaluation.
