Capsular Contracture

Capsular contracture occurs when scar tissue that naturally forms around a breast implant tightens and becomes unusually firm. It can cause hardness, distortion, discomfort, or pain and may require additional treatment or surgery. The condition can have more than one cause. In a medical device case, attorneys may review the implant type, surgical records, infection history, product warnings, and expert opinions to evaluate whether a defect or inadequate warning contributed to the injury.
