Paraplegia

Paraplegia is paralysis affecting the legs and often part of the lower body, usually because of spinal cord or nervous system injury or disease. Sensation, bowel and bladder function, sexual function, and other body systems may also be affected. Abilities and support needs vary widely. In an injury claim, evidence can include the neurologic level and completeness of injury, treatment, rehabilitation, equipment, home access, attendant care, work effects, and future medical needs.
