Product Recall

A product recall is an action to correct, remove, replace, repair, or warn about a product that may violate safety requirements or present a risk. A regulator, manufacturer, or seller may initiate it. A recall can be important evidence, but it does not automatically prove that every unit was defective or that the product caused a person’s injury. The specific recall scope, model, lot, dates, reason, and remedy must be compared with the individual claim.
