Biomet M2a Magnum
The Biomet M2a Magnum, like other defective metal-on-metal hip replacement systems, has failed at a staggering rate. In February of 2015, in consultation with the Australian Department of Health, Biomet issued a hazard alert for this dangerous product based on higher-than-expected revision surgery rates. In April of 2016, Biomet sent a warning letter, called a Field Safety Corrective Action, to orthopedic surgeons in Europe about these revision rates. And yet, Biomet did nothing to provide similar warnings in the United States and has never recalled the product.
DIFFERENT METAL-ON-METAL PRODUCT BUT SAME PROBLEMS
The metal debris from this defective product causes the same type of problems as other metal-on-metal hip replacement systems, including:
- Pain
- Nerve, muscle, tissue and bone damage
- Metallosis (metal poisoning)
- Pseudotumors
- Dislocations and Bone fractures
- Loosening of the Device
THE TRUE COST
When patients must undergo painful and costly revision surgery following the implant of a faulty medical device, the corporations responsible for manufacturing and marketing these defective products must be held accountable. If you have been injured due to a defective BIOMET M2a Magnum, time may be running out to file a claim for damages.
